Frequently Asked Questions
The Safe Roads project is a community initiative to help reduce road fatalities. Most road fatalities are completely avoidable because a large percentage of them are a result of distracted or impaired driving practices.
People drive carelessly (texting, drunk driving, distracted driving) because they've done it before and are seemingly unaware of the impact of their behavior.
With The Safe Roads project we want anyone to be able to report a vehicle for its unsafe driving behavior. When you report a vehicle, the notification is sent to the registered owner of the vehicle on our platform. The goal here is to "create an opportunity" for the vehicle owner to speak with their driver (mostly a family member or an emmployee) about the impacts of their driving pattern.
Teenage drivers are 1.6 times more likely to be a fatal accident. And most parents do not have a way to know how safe or reckless their child is when driving around the city. With SafeRoads' 'Driver Safety monitoring', others on the road can report your vehicle number plate enabling you to 'have a conversation' or arrange for 'driver safety instruction' for your driver. These conversations can help us protect our drivers and the others they share the road with.
We created Safe Roads to help save human lives. Humans all over the world are welcome to participate in our road safety initiative and help make your communities safer.
Safe Roads project is organized by a non-profit organization, Humane Vibe and we're run completely on donations and volunteer support.
If you are interested in participating or helping with the Safe Roads initiative in your country, city or neighborhood get in touch with us.
To receive notifications when your vehicle is reported, we require you to sign up on the platform, add your vehicles and install the mobile app. The 'Driver safety monitoring' subscriptions are inexpensive (typically around $2 per month for personal use) and help us cover the cost of running the website, spreading the word and 'keeping the lights on' for this project. Get a subscription and you will be receiving near real-time notifications in your app when your vehicles are reported.
The 'Driver safety monitoring' program is designed to help vehicle owners receive feedback about how their drivers are driving. This includes those who are using their vehicle for personal or business purposes.
We have various subscription plans available enabling users to register just a few or many vehicles and drivers and receive notifications about their driving behavior. Visit the SafeRoads shop to purchase your decals.
You may purchase the 'Driver safety monitoring' subscription online at our website. Monthly or Annual recurring payment options are available. When you purchase a 'bumper sticker' from our website you also receive 6 free months of 'driver safety monitoring' subscription
As a non-profit project with goal of helping make our roads safer we decided to expend our energies on building a tool that can be useful and scalable in making roads safer. This is why we build Driver safety monitoring technology. As you can expect, there is a real and significant cost in building the technology, in maintaining its infrastructure and keeping it running. The subscription fee for the service goes towards helping keep the technology running and to cover other operating costs. With the subscription, a user can receive near real-time/instant notifications if their vehicle is reported by others. If you are not part of the subscription program, you may be able to visit the website and review the reports on an as-requested basis. The subscription payments (typically under $2 a month) enables us to cover a part of the costs of running the program.
